We are all packing and finalizing details. This last week we have more to pack: baseballs, a coffee maker, spices, a wheel for a wheelbarrow, playground equipment connections (some still on order), art supplies, and spray-paint equipment with air compressor - which we have no idea how big or heavy it will be (we receive that today)!
Please pray for quiet spirits with our focus and dependence on Christ as we organize & finalize all these details, and arrange for getting our bags & bods down to O'Hare!

Happy Lent! Standing in need of Grace
Poor Jeanette! I had a frantic email from her this morning, asking if -PLEASE!- the information on our team form was wrong... I had the team flights listed as arriving & departing at the Santo Domingo airport - hours away from their current location! I quickly double-triple-checked & sent her peace of mind that we are in & out of the Santiago airport! phew!
How much in need of grace we stand! Not just for these perrenial mistakes, but much more for the actual rebellion & evil in our hearts. Perhaps it was the Ash Wednesday effects of the Word on my heart, but even earlier this morning, in reviewing Psalm 139, I was struck by a fresh awareness of my own wicked heart. Words that I had always taken as delivered against other folks of evil heart, I suddenly recognized as the old Adam in myself:
19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.
Yet, in all that Jesus has done for me & is doing in me - that gift of faith by His grace, I cling to His promise of redemption!
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
AMEN!
...to the Cross!

Back to the DR in 8 days!
So much has happened in the past 8+ months, since we returned from our short term mission trip with our dear brothers & sisters in the DR last April-May! We rejoiced with Pastor Willie Gaspar's congregation on the completion and dedication (Oct. 2011)of the sanctuary we helped construct in Las Americas.
Now we are heading back, with a crew of dedicated servant-hearted folks (cheese-heads all), to work with Brian & Jeanette Keller, alongside our DR brothers and sisters in Christ again, this time in Palmar Arriba, outside of Santiago.
Pray for our final planning, packing, health... 8 days to departure!

Pray for our final planning, packing, health... 8 days to departure!
Also pray for
- Jeanette....the perseverance to get thru all the paperwork/record-keeping ahead of her.
- Brian....that he is able to find what is needed for the construction of items on the playground.
- the Keller's temporary storage manager is having some major health issues: Jamelle.
Thanks...prayer partners!

Matthew 28:19&20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19&20
