The DR Mission

Brookfield Lutheran Church is continuing a partnership with established pastoral leaders and congregations in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) mission to the Dominican Republic (DR).  (check out http://www.wmltblog.org/tag/dominican-republic  and  http://blog.lcmsworldmission.org/2011/03/25/celebrating-five-years-of-ministry-and-expansion-in-the-dominican-republic ).
We are working this time with efforts to upgrade the grounds and facilities around the village of Palmar Arriba, and specifically regarding the Concordia School environs.
Future projects hope to include the building of group homes for developmentally disabled people in conjunction with work affiliated with Bethesda Lutheran Communities based in Watertown, Wis. They provide spiritual and physical care for people with developmental disabilities by establishing group homes that provide excellent care, and by developing religious, educational and therapeutic programs that incorporate them into the family of Christ and society.
